By reducing police presence on the Streets Brown has made it difficult to report crime. This confines the police to responding to crime rather than preventing crime. Until the political establishment rejects the propaganda of falling crime, UK crime will continue to claim too many unnecessary victims. It is time that the public held those responsible accountable.

HI,

Have just read the Farnham Herald and seen the F&C drawing of there proposed vision of the East Street development.

This is much more what the vast majority of people in Farnahm want, with the exception of the Redgrave Theatre.

Given there choice of architects (The same people who did the Lion and Lamb) I think that this plan should be given support from the people of farnham should it ever get of the drawing board.

It is easy for CNS to fob us off when we are either campiagning for the retention of the Redgrave or pbjecting to there plan without an alternative. But as soonas we have options they have less ground on which to stand.

Regards

Ben

As a Hambledon Parish councillor, I welcome Jeremy's efforts to help save red phone boxes, particularly those that form a part of a traditional village landscape. We will explore all avenues to try to keep our box on the cricket green outside our community run Post Office, including trying to get it listed. And here's a thought. Why not use a red box now and then, instead of making a mobile call on the move? Stewart Payne

The National Health Service needs to manage its demand; it could begin by limiting its service to those in receipt of a European Health Insurance Card, as in all other EU countries. This would stop the health tourism drain. The NHS funding problem resides in its failure to recognise that the taxpayer is the customer the patient the consumer, often-unconnected parties.

If the NHS needs more funds, it could charge for Road Accidents and increase VAT. This would be more just and transfer the NHS burden from work to consumption. It should not punish the public that actively contribute to NHS through "top-up."

It would be interesting to establish if any of the Primary Care Trust have private medical insurance provided from public funds. Considering NHS cuts many taxpayers may be surprised to learn that private medical insurance can be provided by their taxes.
